I've just been hit with the toughest message possible these days: you are out of credits - usage limits will reset Thursday at 7.30am - what am I going to do until then???

In all seriousness, this is the first time of me hitting the limits on the Pro plan (£89/month) and it was kind of a wake up call of sorts! I did update to this more expensive plan about 3 months ago, when I was constantly hitting the limits on the £20/month plan. At that time I was actively pushing multiple apps at the same time, so it didn't feel too bad to upgrade, although it is a crazy expense for sure...over the past couple of days I did do some extensive re-write and update to one of my very first app and I guess that is what consumed a lot of my credits?
Still, since the 5 hours limits has been removed, the pattern is become clearer and clearer from OpenAI: spend more time in our software all at once so you will eventually will want to give us more money!!
I've always seen the 5-hours limit as something I would have self-imposed to exercise judgement and control over my own usage; not something a commercial company would have ever wanted to do. I guess they were still fully scaling their hardware and data centre plans, and needed some breaks from time to time? Certainly from a user perspective it was a great way to be forced to balance usage and I think it was very much responsible for keeping my usage alive for the week. Now, without that "safeguard", my usage has just been a stream of consciousness kind of approach.
I have an idea -> let's implement it
I don't think I will want to change that approach too much, as it's been such a creative outlet for me that I don't want to stop it; but for sure it will force me to look at a better balancing of models or ways to self-impose a made up 5-hours rule on myself!
Anyway...if you see this post up before Thursday, it means I've figure out how to manually post it on my newly re-designed blog...which just reminded me that I probably need to build a manual backup, rather than only relying on the "publish this" instruction to my agent...
